Rubiks cube
-
The white cross
- Hold the cube with white on top.
- Find the correct colors and try to form the white
+symbol on the top. - If a center piece is in the correct place but “flipped”, meaning, the colors are on the opposite faces,
- bring it to the correct position first.
- move it to the right side (front clockwise)
- turn the top counterclockwise
- move the flipped center piece the top (right clockwise)
- turn the top clockwise to put everything back.
-
The white corners
- Hold the cube with the solved white cross at the bottom.
- We can solve the white corners by bringing the pieces to the correct position and then using the movements below (sometimes, it takes a few repititions).
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverse(if we are doing it with the right hand)Left Inverse -> Top Inverse -> Left -> Top(if we are doing it with the left hand)
-
Second layer
- Find an edge piece on top without yellow.
- Bring it to the correct position to match it’s center color.
- Now, it would have to go to the right side or to the left side.
- Assuming it has to go to the right side.
- Do the opposite. Move it away. Meaning, do Top clockwise to move that piece to the opposite direction.
- Don’t change the face of the cube. Don’t turn it.
- Now, we have to bring the “right bottom” corner piece out - with our right hand. How? Same movement that we used before:
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverse - Now, we have to re-insert that corner to the correct position - but with our left hand. Turn the face of the cube -
Left Inverse -> Top Inverse -> Left -> Top - With this, the edge piece will come to its place.
- Assuming it has to go to the left side.
- Do the opposite. Move it away. Meaning, do Top counter clockwise to move that piece to the opposite direction.
- Don’t change the face of the cube. Don’t turn it.
- Now, we have to bring the “left bottom” corner piece out - with our left hand. How? Same movement that we used before:
Left Inverse -> Top Inverse -> Left -> Top - Now, we have to re-insert that corner to the correct position - but with our right hand. Turn the face of the cube -
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverse - With this, the edge piece will come to its place.
- If any of the edge pieces in the second layer are “flipped”, meaning, in the correct place but with inverted colors, use a random piece from the top to move it out. And, then put it in the correct place.
-
Top cross
- Hold the cube with yellow on top.
- Hold the cube so that the most matching edge pieces are to the top left side of the cube.
- If you have a straight line matching, make sure it is horizontal to you - not vertical.
- Turn the front face clockwise.
- Now, do our 4 steps.
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverse - Undo the front face move. Turn it counter clockwise.
- Keep turning the cube after each step.
- Repeat until the top cross is solved.
- Now, look at the top yellow edge pieces.
-
Bring top mid colors to the correct places.
- We want to line up the pieces with the center colors.
- We are going to be able to line up all 4 or just 2.
- If two are lined up, hold the cube so that one of them is to the right side of the cube and the other one is to the back of the cube.
- If they are opposite to each other, just do the next step anyways.
- Right clockwise.
- Top clockwise.
- Put the right side back down.
- Right Counter clockwise.
- Top clockwise to keep moving those two pieces to the left side.
- Right clockwise again.
- Put the two pieces on the left side all the way back in.
- Counter clockwise two times.
- And Right Counter clockwise.
-
Bring top corner pieces to the correct places (although not oriented correctly).
- We want to bring the corner pieces to the correct spots. Correct spot does not mean “solved”.
- If only one of them is in the correct spot, hold it to the front right.
- If none are in the correct spot, do this from anywhere.
- Turn the top with your Right hand. Right side up.
Top clockwisewith right index finger.Right clockwise
- Same thing with your left hand. Turn the top with your left hand (counter clockwise). Left side up (Counter clockwise).
Top counter clockwisewith left index finger.Left counter clockwise
- Now, repeat the same thing again. But downwards.
- Turn the top with your Right hand. And Right side down.
Top clockwisewith right index finger.Right counter clockwise
- Same thing with your left hand. Turn the top with your left hand (counter clockwise). Left side down.
Top anti clockwisewith left index finger.Left clockwise
- Turn the top with your Right hand. Right side up.
- Repeat if necessary.
- All the corner pieces need to come to the correct spots.
-
The yellow corner pieces are in correct positions but oriented wrong.
- Hold the cube with the white color upwards.
- Repeat
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverseuntil this piece comes to the correct position. - Do not change the position of the cube after this one comes into place. Do not rotate the whole cube.
- Just turn the bottom layer to bring the next unsolved corner piece to the bottom right.
- Repeat
Right -> Top -> Right Inverse -> Top Inverseuntil this piece comes to the correct position.
